We’ll meet all your civil engineering needs

We’re a team of civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering consultants who are experts at managing projects across multiple industries. What makes us different is that we’ve worked as both consulting engineers and contractors. Which means we know the building industry inside out.

We have the experience and technical expertise to provide cost-effective civil engineering solutions quickly and efficiently, so you can deliver your project on time and on budget.

Our civil engineering solutions will keep your construction costs down

At Civil Consult, we know that engineering solutions are a fine balance between practicality and innovation. What’s more, we know you don’t want to end up paying over the odds. That’s why we offer tailored packages to suit your needs.

Unlike many civil engineering companies, our specialist geotechnical engineers will supervise all site investigations and site classification projects. This approach ensures that we always know exactly what’s happening on the ground. And you get to experience the very highest levels of service and cost-efficiency.

From soil testing and classification, through to foundation and footing design, we offer a friendly civil engineering consultancy service that’s cost-effective and hard to beat.

Greg Saenger

Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Greg is the founder of Civil Consult. He has a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (Civil) from the University of Queensland and a Master of Business (Applied Finance) from QUT. He’s been working in the industry since 2003.

Greg grew up in Alstonville but kicked off his career in Brisbane. After starting a family, he felt a pull to return to his roots, moving to Lennox Head to consult on the St Helena Tunnel project in 2012.

What Greg loves most about engineering is working on large infrastructure projects. He has a passion for the temporary works space, where design can happen on the spot. Above all, he gets great satisfaction from helping out his clients with innovative engineering solutions.

When Greg’s not working, you’ll find him out in the surf, swimming in the ocean or teaching his kids to surf and skate.

James Greentree

Engineering Geologist

James is an Engineering Geologist at Civil Consult. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science with Honours from QUT and a Masters of Geotechnical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.

Since 2014, James has worked as an engineering geologist. He has a passion for the local landscape and the way its underlying geology interacts with the built environment. On top of that, he enjoys how geotechnical concepts can be applied to geology, solving a range of real-world problems.

James moved to the Northern Rivers in 2020. He enjoys spending his free time exploring the area with his young family.

Jayden Lavelle

Structural/Geotechnical Engineer

Jayden has a Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours (Civil) from Southern Cross University. He has worked in the industry since graduating in 2017.

What Jayden enjoys most about his role is developing cost-effective engineering solutions for clients. He’s lived in the area his whole life, so he also gets a great sense of satisfaction from working on projects that improve the local area. When Jayden’s not at work, you’ll find him spending time with friends and family, fishing and camping out in the bush.

Micah Kemp

Engineering Geologist

Micah has a Bachelor of Science (Geology and Environmental Studies) from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.

Since moving to the Northern Rivers in 2013, Micah has gained in-depth knowledge of the region’s geology. He enjoys the discoveries made during geotechnical & geological investigations and applying that knowledge to create real-life engineering solutions.

Micah has two high spirited sons who were both born in the region. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, flying, and spending quality time with his family.

Joel Stone

Undergraduate Structural Engineer

Joel has a Diploma of Engineering and is currently studying for a Bachelor of Engineering at Southern Cross University.

Back in 2019, Joel carried out a work placement with Civil Consult. As a result, he gained valuable experience, and took full advantage of the opportunity to learn all aspects of civil engineering. Since then, we have welcomed him to the team on a permanent basis.

Joel has always lived in the Northern Rivers. He enjoys building relationships with other professionals in the local area and spends weekends and holidays with his family, fishing and camping out in the bush.

Ricky Singh

Project Manager

Ricky is a qualified Civil Site Engineer with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Griffith University. He's worked in design and project management roles at Civil Consult since 2018.

Ricky finds it highly satisfying to work on engineering projects from the conception and design stage all the way through to construction. He has also been instrumental in cementing Civil Consult's ongoing relationship with the Byron Bay, Kyogle, Lismore, and Richmond Valley local councils.

Born and bred in the Northern Rivers, Ricky's family have had strong ties to the local farming community for four generations. When he's not working, Ricky likes to spend his downtime with his nieces and nephews on the family farm.

Toby Ellis

Engineer

Toby is an Engineer at Civil Consult. He has a Bachelor of Sound and Music Design from the University of Technology in Sydney and is currently studying engineering at Southern Cross University.

Toby has a talent for designing solutions to complex problems using a combination of on-site investigations and desktop modelling. In addition, he finds researching new technologies and developing strategies for innovative remedial works highly rewarding.

After deciding to further his studies, Toby moved to Ballina in 2019. Outside work, he likes to spend his time surfing, fishing, and making music.

Corelle Forster

Project Manager

Corelle is a qualified Civil Engineer and Project Manager. She has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering with First Class Honours from Southern Cross University and recently joined Civil Consult to lead the Kyogle Flood Recovery project.

Since 2013, Corelle has performed various engineering roles in the NSW Pacific Highway upgrade. She enjoys working with a team to identify and execute engineering solutions that protect the integrity of local infrastructure, improve safety, and serve the community.

Corelle moved to the Northern Rivers in 2012 to settle in her husband's hometown. Outside work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring everything the Northern Rivers region has to offer.

Eugene Ferraris

Engineer

Currently in his third year of a Bachelor of Engineering degree at Southern Cross University, Eugene spent more than six years working in residential civil engineering in Switzerland as a construction manager and senior CAD designer.

At Civil Consult, Eugene specialises in producing IFC earthworks and structural and civil layout plans. He finds it particularly fulfilling to work with a team that shares a passion for excellence. Furthermore, he loves getting out in the field and enjoys the variable and diverse nature of his role.
